Yummy for the Tummy: Razon's of Guagua Halo-Halo

What's the best thing about summer?  Not only do you get to spend time on the beach, you also get to eat awesome food that is enjoyable during this season.

One of the best food to try out is the halo-halo which translates to "mix".  It can be considered a snack (or dessert) which consists of a variety of fruits, mainly banana and jackfruit (usually sweetened), sweet potato, tapioca, beans, jelly, and evaporated milk, topped with shaved ice.  It can also be served with leche flan (creme caramel) and purple yam on top.

Halo-halo can be found almost anywhere during summer.  But the more popular ones that you should definitely try is Razon's version.  It only has 5 ingredients: sweetened banana, macapuno, milk, leche flan, and ice.  Razon's has got to have the perfectly shaved ice I have ever tried!  It makes digging under the glass and mixing all the ingredients together so much easier.  And the leche flan is so perfectly creamy!

Forgive me, I wasn't able to resist the urge before taking the photo.  I had to take a bite of the leche flan :)

So if you find yourself craving for something refreshing to beat the heat, or if you are a foreigner looking for Filipino-themed snack, why not try Razon's.  They have branches in most malls around the Metro and also offers other food items such as pancit, dinuguan, puto, and tapsilog.
