Destination: Cebu (In a Day)

Last year, my friends and I went on a vacation.  We were up early to catch the first flight out of Manila, to our 4-day journey of the Visayan region. First stop, the Queen City of the South, Cebu City.  This city is known as the oldest settlement that the spaniards established in the Philippines.  Read more about Cebu here.

Upon arriving, we took a cab to our hotel which is near the pier for our trip the next day to Bohol.  Hotel Pier Cuatro has fairly reasonable price for their rooms which can easily fit everyone (we were 6).  And get this, free wifi which reaches the third floor(I'll be mentioning this all through out my blog of this trip).

After buying our tickets for the next day, we were up for some breakfast.  And what better food to have than the famous Cebu lechon.  We tried CnT's version and it was very satisfying.  Lechon here has a very distinct taste.  Might be due to the tanglad (lemongrass) placed inside the pig while roasting.

The most famous landmark in Cebu is the Magellan's cross.  Ferdinand Magellan is the Portugese explorer who landed in this province in 1521.  He established Catholicism in the country (about 90% of the population are Catholics).  The cross that can be seen here is said to contain the relics of the original cross that Magellan brought.

We were then off to Crowne Regency to experience Sky Experience Adventure.  We availed the Sky Day Tour which is Php 888 per person.  The package includes the following:
- Lunch Buffet at Wang Shan Lo restaurant
- Entrance Pass to Sky Level
- One Sky Ride (Edge Coaster or Skywalk Extreme)
- One 4D Theatre show
- Free use of outdoor swimming pool
- And......... One hour of full body massage at Prana Medispa.  I checked their website today and this is not part of the current package anymore.

After this thrilling day, we met up with an old college friend whom we haven't seen in years.  Truly, Cebu is a gem on it's own.
